Hi, my name is Meredith.
I’m the first Online Editor for Global Talent Acquisition at Dell. I manage our global careers website and spearhead multimedia efforts including video, interactive modules (like our calendaring system) and work to support the graphic needs of our social media team. It keeps me busy but I really enjoy what I do.
Before accepting my current role, I served as Southwestern University’s Assistant Director of Web Development and Communication for two years, shooting, editing and producing videos, managing our social media properties and developing and updating content on the university’s website.
It’s been a surprisingly winding road since I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. After working at a handful of places during college including the Austin Chronicle and The Daily Texan, I took an internship as the first digital media intern for Southern Progress Corporation, a division of Time, Inc.
Before moving back to my native Texas, I worked as a web producer at NOLA.com, the online affiliate of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. There, I pioneered and produced content for blogs covering the local roller derby league and the city’s deteriorating streets. I also tweeted and blogged live coverage of events including Hurricane Gustav, Mardi Gras and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
I have extensive experience with multimedia production, social media, web editing, meta-tagging and programs including Flash and Final Cut Pro. I’ve been building my skills in analyzing and interpreting data through Google Analytics and Facebook Insights as well as SEO implementation.
New media continues to be an ever-changing frontier and I’m excited to be a part of this industry.
